Join Jan Beadle for a day of weaving on a 4 shaft table loom and learn to weave the classic Herringbone Tweed, which we all associate with Harris Tweed.

Twill has many variations, but all are characterized by the diagonal lines formed in the weaving structure, Herringbone being the most recognizable.

This will suit absolute beginners but also weavers wanting to develop their skills further, as Jan will show you how to create new patterns within this structure, taking the mystery out of pattern reading. The aim of the day is that you will go home with your own unique piece of tweed.

The looms will be set up and ready to go on the day with all materials included.

Jan has over 30 years’ experience in the textile field both as a teacher, and as a designer and maker of contemporary woven textiles for fashion and interiors
