In this class you will learn the art of Drypoint plate making, using images which you can bring with you. The day will start with creating the image on the plate by tracing the image from your drawing or photograph and creating different depths of line and cross hatching for tone. You will then ink up using several different techniques, which will vary from traditional black ink to a full colour range. You will be using beautiful thick printmaking paper and intaglio and relief inks to print single and double drop prints (depending on how fast you make your plate). This workshop is designed both for beginner and experienced printmakers
Jenny is from a well-known family of printmakers, who are nationally recognised for inventing the Gunning Etching Presses.
