Introduction to Life Drawing with Catherine MacDiarmid

Working direct from a life model, you will be guided through different drawing techniques using graphite and charcoal. This introductory class is intended to nurture both an experimental approach to life drawing and good observational skills while promoting good discipline within the traditions of a life room setting.

Catherine MacDiarmid has exhibited widely including in the BP Portrait Award and was a semi-finalist in the Sky Portrait Artists of the Year 2019. Catherine has 26 years’ experience teaching art courses.
Please bring with you:
*A3/A2 sketchbook of cartridge paper
*Willow charcoal
*Putty rubber
*Graphite stick
*Clips or masking tape
*Drawing board if your sketchbook is floppy
*Easels – feel free bring one if you want although this course has been designed to work without using one
We have a Design shop at Rheged in case you are missing any materials.
