The Lake Artists Society Annual Exhibition

Free Entry | No booking necessary

We are proud to host the Annual Exhibition of the esteemed Lake Artists Society for the first time in its 117-year history.
This joyful celebration of art and creativity features 260 original works by artists from the length and breadth of Cumbria.
The Lake Artists Society, founded in 1904 by the artist and author W.G. Collingwood, has become renowned for the sheer quality and variety of fine art that its membership brings together within a single county.
Almost every year since it was founded the Society has held a Summer Exhibition at Grasmere Village Hall in the Lake District. But when the hall became a Covid vaccination centre, the artists found themselves without a venue for their flagship annual show.
Rheged’s Gallery team has relished the opportunity to help create this vibrant exhibition of work from the Society’s 45 members and carefully selected non-members. From masterful landscapes and arresting portraits to intriguing still-lifes and innovative sculptures, every artwork is for sale and being shown for the first time.

Open 9am - 5.30pm  | Free Entry  |  No Booking Necessary
