Wildlife Photographer of the Year

arts-heritage

Discover the breath-taking diversity of the natural world, in this internationally renowned exhibition, on loan from the Natural History Museum. The Wildlife Photographer of the Year provides an immersive experience with some of the best photography in the world displayed in large light box panels - a first for Cumbria.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year celebrates the very best nature photography and photojournalism. The images spark reaction and encourage us all to think differently about our impact on the natural world. The exhibition’s stunning images allow visitors to experience nature in vivid detail and get up close to some of the world’s most extraordinary species, the lives they live and the challenges they face.

In this year's competition almost 39,000 entries were received from 93 Countries. The winners of the 19 categories of Wildlife Photographer of the Year were announced on 11 October 2022, hosted by wildlife presenter Chris Packham.
