In this class, you will create a woodblock using some lovely tools and ink. You will be using colour; rainbow roll as well as one colour printing. You will have time to create a beautiful work of art with Jenny helping you, every step of the way. You will draw (or trace) your image onto the block and then carve out the image. Once finished, you will print using the very best spindle rollers, paper, and printing press.

Jenny is from a well-known family of printmakers, who are nationally recognised for inventing the Gunning Etching Presses. Jenny has been printmaking since she was 7 years old and has her own printmaking studios and Gallery in Ironbridge. Here Jenny creates her own work and runs workshops in all forms of printmaking, both traditional and contemporary. Jenny, whose work is a key part of this year’s Great Print 8 Exhibition has developed some incredible ways of registering plates, inking, and printing to make printmaking accessible to all.

The price includes all the materials you will use. All you need to bring are a selection of A4 or A5 drawings or photographs. Please bring an Aprons and marigold gloves or nitrile gloves for inking and wear old clothes which you don’t mind getting ink on.
