Join Restore Cumbria and Cumbria Clothing Collective at Rheged for an inspiring and insightful day focused on sustainable fashion, repairing clothes, and the circular textiles economy.

This event aims to engage the community in thinking more consciously about the clothes they wear, the environmental cost of fast fashion, and the opportunities to re-use, re-wear, restore, and re-sell garments. Through films, discussions,  hands-on activities and shared learning, we hope to inspire people to make more sustainable choices and contribute to reducing local clothing waste.

Expect a day packed with:

  • Inspiring films and engaging discussion panels
  • Hands-on repair workshops
  • A vibrant Sustainable Fashion Show featuring local primary and senior schools
  • A Clothes Swap including colour and styling guidance
  • An innovation exhibition showcasing mending and repair demonstrations from leading companies.

We’re also thrilled to feature special guests throughout the day:

Lucy & Yak will host a special repair workshop.

Mary Morton and Jeanna Wigger, authors of “Stitch It, Don’t Ditch It!”, will run a dedicated repair workshop – bring your items and learn how to fix them!

Members of Re-Action Collective will be on-site, running a workshop and demonstrating expert repair techniques for your mountain equipment.

Confirmed exhibitors already include WoolClip, IronKeld, and RWC Ltd, with many more to come!

Stay tuned for regular updates on speakers, final workshop details, and film screenings in the coming weeks. In association with:
