Young & Emerging Artist Call Out

2025 marks Rheged’s 25th birthday, and we’re celebrating with a special exhibition featuring 25 professional Cumbrian artists, in our main Gallery. The free exhibition will run from 17 October 25 to 1 February 26.

Are you ready to put your work in the spotlight? We’re looking for young and emerging artists from across Cumbria, to exhibit their work, alongside the 25 Cumbrian artists in this exhibition. This is an opportunity to showcase your creativity, connect with fellow artists, and gain real exposure .

Three artists will be selected to exhibit in our award-winning Gallery. You will also have a chance to win £500. During the exhibition, we will be running a People’s Choice Competition, where visitors will vote for their favourite artwork by the young artists and the winning artist will receive the prize.
 
Entry Requirements:
• Age: 18 – 30years 
• Must live in Cumbria
• Art Mediums: paint, ceramics, textiles & mixed media (sorry no photography or film.)
• Cost: There is no fee to enter
• Transport: Artists are responsible for delivering their work to Rheged
 
If you wish to enter:
• Please email gallery@rheged.com  with high res-images of 2 or 3 pieces of artwork that show your style, skill and techniques used
• Some words about you and an insight into your artwork and inspirations. (no more than 300 words)
• Deadline for submissions: midnight Thursday 18th July 2025
 
The next step:
• 3 artists will be selected, and notified
• The 3 selected artists can then each submit up to 12 pieces for the curator to use in the final exhibition
• The deadline for final artwork delivery is no later than Friday 26 September along with any unframed prints, cards, and other shop items
